3 Tips For Wild Emotions

Know What Is Going On

Perimenopause may come at very inconvenient times, increasing your stress and emotions. You might have fewer responsibilties now or you may have some added responsibility perhaps with additional family members who need your help. Do you feel like your emotions get away from you?

Some women feel like they are on a rolling wave of emotions as they move into the change of life.

Just acknowledging that you are not mentally disturbed and there is a reason for your emotions, can help you feel much more in control of your body.

Here are three tips that may make it easier for you to handle your "roller coaster" emotions. At least start with these and see if it helps.

By making lifestyle modifications, such as discovering ways to unwind and reduce stress can be very helpful.  Exercising not only reshapes your body and makes you physically fit, it also causes positive changes to your brain.

1- Exercising 20 minutes a day, three times a week may also help you to focus your energy and forget your emotions for awhile.

2- Eating small meals and a number of snacks throughout the day can also give you the energy you require to cope with your uneven emotions.

3- If you are able, sit alone and do a few minutes of deep breathing, concentrating on your breath while inhaling and exhaling. You can do this in traffic, on the subway, or at your desk, etc.

Remember PMS?  I had it bad!  I wanted to hide from the human race for almost a week every month. But it was hardly possible for me to do that.

When I went through menopause, I had symptoms but they didn't seem to last as long as I was expecting them to. We are conditioned to fear the worse scenario. There is nothing to fear when we understand what is happening.

If you can stay on top of it, (knowing what to expect) it will help prevent anxiety.

Just be mindful of what is taking place in your body.  Do your own research so you are aware of what symptoms your body is experiencing.  Are they related to menopause?  Just by doing that, it can relieve the fear related to the "natural changes" your body is trying to adapt to.
